A Winter Day in Ohio

About every hour or so the sun here in Ohio decides to peek out from behind the clouds. The gray lets up and we are given a glimpse again of the blue skies. Every time I would see the sun peeking out and reflecting on yesterdays snow fall, I tried to grab my camera. Most of the day I would miss the sun and the glistening affect it was having on the crystal covered ground. Finally about 10 minutes ago it came out for more than a couple of seconds. I believe it lasted almost 10 minutes!

I wanted to go outside and soak up the rays streaming down but when I checked the temperature there was no digits to be seen. It's so cold here that the thermometer doesn't want to register! After going online to check the temp it again told me 0 (zero) with a wind chill of minus 20 to 30 below. That is bitter cold in my opinion and explains the aches and pains of the physical body. Though it is cold I am enjoying the fact that I have internet again!

Destiny is off of school between the snowfall yesterday and the frigged cold temperatures of today. She has spent most of the day cleaning her room as she promised me she would in the event she didn't have school. She is making progress and I hope to have some fun family activities for the two of us to do this evening while Thomas works in the garage. Destiny & I are trying to stay warm and we frequently visit the large room with the wood burning stove. We were play arguing this morning and shoving each other out of the way to steal as much heat as possible. Was fun picking on her and her picking on me. I love those little moments of memory making. :-)

I feel like I have a million and one things to talk about and I'm sure could ramble on for hours. I guess that's what happens when you are without internet and the virtual world for a week. I must be trying to make up for all my lack of socialism and communication the past week.

I'm sure I'll have a bunch to talk about after this weekend. Tomorrow late morning I am making the hour and a half to two hour drive north to visit my parents. Tom is going to stay home as he has a job he needs to finish out in the garage. I'm looking forward to just us gals hanging out for a while. Mom says she wants to teach me a new card game. I love it; playing games with her, reminds me of when I was a kid and before she had to work. There is nothing else more fun than visiting my family. I'd opt for it above all other places to go and things to do. I love them more than words could ever describe!
